How its switch registers
SteelSeries Apex 9 Full Size ships with SteelSeries OptiPoint Linear, rated linear by this database. A flag on the stem falls into a light gap and breaks the beam between an LED and a sensor. Linear and very consistent, because there is no debounce wait after the break.
Drawn distances are the norm for this switch family, not a measurement of this keyboard. The animation is the same diagram the app uses.
Sound
On the sound model used across this site it reads as clacky · sharp. That is a character derived from its mount, case weight, switch feel and noise rating — it is not a recording of this keyboard.
